A Message from Trent Cotney

To My Friends and Colleagues,

Within just a few months, coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has swept across the United States, drastically altering our way of life.

During this time, I have had the privilege of working with numerous industry professionals — incredible people who continue to provide essential services for their communities. Many are left wondering what they can do to protect their businesses and workers, friends and family, and everything they’ve worked so hard to build.

Given the spread of COVID-19, contractors and roofing professionals are facing unprecedented challenges. Many construction companies have experienced project shutdowns while others have shuttered their doors, but we’ve been here before. We’ve been through hardships in the past and emerged stronger than ever. Although the challenges facing our industry are unique, they are nothing that we can’t overcome. The resourceful and resolute men and women of this industry are simply not prepared to give up in the face of adversity. COVID-19 has made the path ahead difficult, but it in no way means that you can’t navigate obstacles in the coming months and emerge victorious.

At Cotney Construction Law, our construction attorneys and legal staff are working around the clock to help maintain and protect construction businesses during this difficult time. We’ve created a COVID-19 resources section on our website dedicated to providing industry professionals with the latest news impacting the industry. I encourage you to check it frequently as we are updating it with new resources on a regular basis.

We’re all in this together. I know it may not seem like it now, but this daunting situation will end. When it does, we’ll come out of it realizing that any challenge can be overcome. Until then, I encourage you to prepare, stay informed, and above all else, stay safe.

We will get through this.

Sincerely,
Trent Cotney
