These 3 Organizations Support Women in the Roofing Industry

Roofing businesses are setting a great example of how opening the door for more women workers can greatly benefit the overall success of an industry. Over the last few years, more and more women have entered the roofing industry, and productivity has increased as a result. Today, women occupy virtually every position in the roofing industry, from working on the project site to owning an entire company. Women might only make up nine percent of the construction industry, but their contributions can be felt on every level.

National Association for Women in Construction

This organization is comprised of more than 4,500 members spread out over chapters across the United States. The goal of NAWIC is to provide women with resources to help them build skills and take their careers to the next level. Resources include mentoring, access to the latest industry-relevant news, and involvement in community outreach projects. NAWIC also provides educational resources, leadership development, and path plotting assistance to help women define their career path in the construction industry.

National Women in Roofing

Featuring over 1,200 members, National Women in Roofing (NWIR) is an organization dedicated to advancing the role of women in the roofing industry. NWIR provides women with support and resources to carve out successful careers in roofing, including mentorship opportunities, seminars, and recruitment resources. NWIR helps women in the roofing industry connect with others who share their interests and want to establish a name for themselves. Empowering women is NWIR’s central mission, and they achieve this by building women into the leaders of tomorrow.

Canadian Association for Women in Construction

Finally, the Canadian Association for Women in Construction (CAWIC) is another organization dedicated to providing women in the construction industry with resources to help them succeed. Although not located in the United States, CAWIC is helping round out or continent’s supply of talented construction professionals through access to educational resources, training opportunities, and more.
